Description
This group of three spindles is representative of the ten for sale. Each is 24" long with a 2" square base. They are made of old growth Cyprus wood. These spindles were part of a outdoor walkway from the 1902 mansion designed by Columbus architect, Frank Packard. Later the mansion served as the Ohio State Governor's mansion until about 1975. There are no nail holes, as the spindles were secured by the tendons at both ends. There is no deterioration from insects or the elements. Notice the pleasing tapered design with attention to proper proportion, which the architect, Packard, was known for. Approximately another 100 spindles from the same railing in similar excellent condition will be offered for sale in the future.
