this is the actual sign that hung on the outside of the Franksville, WI depot from the 1800s until 1968 when it was scheduled for demolition
i have included the following items for reference only:
a photo of the depot from the 1950s showing the sign on the depot (take note of vertical brackets)
a notation from a court case involving an employee of the railroad who was involved in a rail accident near the depot in 1885
a notation from the railroad scheduling the depot for demolition in 1968
the sign is wood with black and gold reflective paint
the wear on the rear shows where the vertical brackets had been
the sign measures 7' 6" long x just over 13" tall, 1" thick
the sign was cut on the ends long ago as the wood is weathered there as well
this is a RARE opportunity to get a piece of authentic Milwaukee Road memorabilia
