, a rare, vintage The Milwaukee Road / Welcome Alumni two-sided sign, on flexible wood composite. Seems stenciled/handmade. Front side (The Milwaukee Road) textured, the backside (Welcome Alumni) is smooth. Unknown when sign is from, but likely 1970s or earlier? Definitely a one-of-a-kind find! Measures about 47" x 32" and weighs about 10.5 lbs. without packaging. The Milwaukee Road, also known as t
he Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad, or CMStP&P, was a Class I railroad that operated in the Midwest and Northwest of the United States from 1847 until 1986. The company experienced financial difficulty through the 70s -80s, including bankruptcy in 1977. Sign appears to have been made for a C.M.St.P.&.P. Railroad Alumni reunion.
For conditions, please review photos closely using the magnifying tool or zoom in. Sign in used condition, with age, use, and storage related wear. A few small holes around the edges, likely where nails / screws were once placed. Bumped/rubbed corners/edges, and on the reverse side, tape marks and maybe some scratches.
