INTRODUCTION
Several years ago, dive bombing was considered as an insufficiently tested method, and the appropriateness of its widespread use was questioned by many. The practice of recent years and combat experience have shown that dive bombing is one of the most effective ways of hitting various targets from the air on the battlefield, at sea and behind enemy lines. The dive bombing method has great potential for further improvement and widespread military use.
The book discusses in outline the main issues of bombing with a dive and the necessary techniques for performing this method in a combat and training environment. This refers to the use of conventional navigator sights and pilot sights designed for aerial shooting.
However, one should not conclude that bombing performed with the help of simple sights is a primitive way. First, the accuracy of bombing from a dive is certainly higher than the accuracy of bombing from horizontal flight, at the same drop heights; secondly, the use of special sights that help increase accuracy during dive bombing does not make significant changes to the theory of bombing and bombing.
The dive bombing techniques described here should obviously be improved based on combat and training practice.
