    vintage Dayton computing scale #344
made by the company that was to become later IBM ~ this one's last patent date is in 1917 ~ a vintage scale in what looks like original condition with a well aged patina ~ originally had a couple gold stripes & dayton embellishments ~ looks like all the original glass is present without chips or cracks ~ glass weighing platform is good ~ the indicator scale moves when items are placed on it though i have not checked it for accuracy ~ it will weigh up to 30 pounds & is almost that heavy itself ~ it is missing one of it's screw in rubber coated feet which should be easy enough to rig up as it will be a standard thread since it was made in ohio back in the day ~ the three mirrors all show tarnish areas but are complete ~ stands about 33 inches tall including the mirror on top ~ 1bout 19 inches across the barrel & about 21 inches deep ~ whether to add a bit of atmosphere & enjoyed as is ~ or restore it as i was surprised to see such examples at the atlantic city antiques show years ago that they were asking thousands for... overall a nice vintage scale ~ local pick up only
