  • Condition: salvaged from an old home in Central New Jersey. It's made of solid oak wood and is stained and finished (not painted). It has lovely turnings in between 2 squared sections and topped with a round finial.This post was positioned at a landing between 2 flights of stairs so the bottom was cut-out and only a thin portion remained to stick out of the bottom, and decorate the side of the landing. This portion could either be cut off (reducing the height to 38") or we could rebuild the cut-out portion with wood to keep the current 51" H or even make it tallerOtherwise, the post is in great shape. It has the typical nicks, scrapes, and scratches which should be expected from 100+ year old, architectural parts. However, there are no serious breaks or cracks, rot, or wrap. All it needs is a good sanding and a fresh coat of paint.     " Antique Solid  Oak  Victorian Newel Post
    Elegant, antique,  newel post salvaged from an old home in Central New Jersey.  It's made of solid oak wood and is stained and finished (not painted).  It has lovely turnings  in between 2 squared sections and topped  with a round finial.
